32nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival
Saturday, March 12, 2022
Main Street, North Myrtle Beach (SC 29582).
Parade: starts at 9 a.m.
Festival: takes place between 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Admission is free

Parade: North Myrtle Beach invites you to a sea green! With over 100 parade entries, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade has a long history and is the biggest on Grand Strand. Every year, Main Street is packed with people who want to see a parade like no other. The parade begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. Make sure you have your “viewing platform” ready by 8:30 a.m. so that friends, family, blankets, and even golf carts can join you. This two-hour event is not to be missed.

While the parade route would remain the same just like in years past, it will take a different direction. It will start on Ocean Boulevard and end at Ye Olde Kings Highway. This change was made to minimize the impact of the parade on 2nd Avenue North. The parade will start at Ocean Boulevard on 2nd Ave North, and continue south to 1st Avenue South. The parade will turn right at Ocean Boulevard and 1st Avenue South. It will then travel on Main Street until it reaches Ye Olde Kings Highway.

Parade staging and line-up will take place at 7:00 AM on Ocean Boulevard, between 2nd Ave North and 11th Ave North. Traffic will be restricted to the southbound lanes of Ocean Boulevard, 11th Ave North to 1st Ave South, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The closure will apply to both northbound and southbound lanes between 2nd Ave North and 1st Ave South.

An emcee will announce parade participants at Horseshoe. The Horseshoe will also have judges stationed to help voters choose the “Best” entries.

The parade will be announced by Jennifer Abney and Ed Piotrowski at the Community Stage. It will also be live broadcast on CW21 for those who can’t attend the parade.

The 32-year-old tradition of North Myrtle Beach’s St. Patrick’s Day parade features decorated and themed floats. This is a fun event for all ages. It kicks off the 32nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival on Main Street, 11:00 AM-4:00 PM.

Street Festival: Continue the party with a parade! Live entertainment on three stages will keep you entertained all day. You can expect Irish Pipe Bands and Irish Dancers as well as many other live performances.

More than 120 vendors will be displaying their crafts. Main Street businesses and food vendors will offer a wide range of Irish treats and festival favorites. Be on the lookout for street performers and leprechauns who will be roaming around this festival. The children’s zone is full of games and rides for all ages.

The festivities end at 4:00 pm. But before you go, make sure to stop by the Information/Parks and Recreation tent and purchase a souvenir shirt to cap off your wonderful day. Limited quantities of T-shirts are available so make sure to get your souvenir tee-shirt at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center before the festival begins, March 7th.

The first person to clean their plate without using their hands wins a plaque and a gift card. Register at Flynn’s Irish Tavern near the Irish Stage before 2:00 PM. You can also pre-register at the Festival Information Booth (corner Hillside and Main Street) prior to 1:30pm. Meet at the Irish Stage by 2:30pm. Contest starts at 2:45pm

Traffic Information

Parade staging and line-up will take place at 7:00 AM on Ocean Boulevard, between 2nd Ave North and 11th Ave North. Traffic will be restricted to the southbound lanes of Ocean Boulevard, 11th Ave North to 1st Ave South, from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The closure will apply to both northbound and southbound lanes between 2nd Ave North and 1st Ave South.

Main Street, from the Ash Street to the Ocean Boulevard, would be closed between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Main Street from Ash Street to Ocean Boulevard will close between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM for the upcoming parade. The Main Street will be transformed into a festival from the Ash Street to Ocean Blvd following the parade, until 6:00 PM.

The parade will start at 9:00 AM. Ocean Boulevard will remain open for vehicular traffic up to 8:30 AM and will reopen at 11:30 AM, shortly after the parade.
